MUSHIN JUKU DOJO
Gozo Shioda Throwing Tsutomu Chida Sensei
Aikido is a martial art created by the late Morihei Ueshiba and has its roots in Daito Ryu Aiki-JuJutsu.
Aikido can be practised effectively regardless of age, gender or physical strength. In Aikido, techniques are executed by blending with the opponents power rather than opposing it.
Renshinkai Aikido is based on the philosophy and techniques passed down from Gozo Shioda Sensei a top student of Ueshiba Sensei’s to Tsutomu Chida Sensei. Renshinkai Aikido focuses on learning through personal experience and training. It focuses a, the basic movements of Renshinkai. Kihon Dosa trains us to be strong and centred without excess tension and to use the power of our partners attack to control them.
Since its formation in 2005, Mushin Juku Dojo has followed the teachings of Gozo Shioda Sensei and as a Renshinkai Dojo we have direct links to the teaching of Tsutomu Chida, former technical director of Yoshinkan Hombu and founder of Aikido Renshinkai.
